DAY 01 : JAYAPURA ARRIVAL – CONNECT TO WAMENA (L,D)
Arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura, meeting service and then take Trigana flight within 45 minutes to Wamena, short transfer to hotel. after lunch visiting the villages, late afternoon back to hotel.
DAY 02 : WAMENA – KOSAREK – SERKASI (B,L,D)
After breakfast ready to fly with Missionary charter plane to Kosarek, the home of Yali people up in the southeast of Wamena. The flight takes about 30 minutes and during to land you can see local people around the landing strip with curious eyes. Kosarek area was opened by Missionary in 70’s but the people still keep the tradition alive. They practiced cannibalism all at once great farmers and live in the remote area which is difficult to get contact with other places. Arrive at Kosarek airstrip, explorer surrounding. Meals and overnight at local house. After picking the porters we start short trekking to Serkasi. Dinner and overnight at local accommodation in Serkasi
DAY 03 : SERKASI PIG FEAST (BLD)
Whole morning enjoy Yali pig feast and dance, afternoon chat with the locals in their house.
DAY04: SERKASI – PIMOHON (B,L,D)
Early breakfast, then start your trek with terrains will be very hard, slippery, steep rocky hills, and rivers with no bridge to get across and also passing the rain forest mountain of Jenggo. Lunch served in the forest by the stream. The trek will be approx. 8 hours.
DAY 05 : PIMOHON – TELAMBELA (B,L,D)
Late breakfast at local house then continue trek down to Telambela village. Dinner & overnight in local hut of Telambela village. (Walk approx. 5 hours).
DAY 06 : TELAMBELA – MEMBAHAM (B,L,D)
The next village is Membaham, located on the other side of the mountain. The scenery on the entire trekking is amazing. You also can hear or sometimes watch Birds of Paradise or cockatoos on the way, refresh your self in unpolluted rivers and have a great adventurous feeling. Trekking will be about 5 hours.
DAY 07 : MEMBAHAM – HELARIKI (B,L,D)
From Membaham will be a long day about 7-8 hours trek. The next village to reach is Helariki. Today’s hike will be filled with up and down hills but yet the panorama is very spectacular, with traditional villages and its people to meet. Lunch served by the cook near one of the river. Overnight at school of Helariki.
DAY 08 : HELARIKI – ANGGURUK (B,L,D)
After breakfast you are proceed to descend the steep river bank down to Yahuli river. A wooden bridge to cross on the way to Angguruk. Lunch served en route. Trek approximately trek 5 hours.
DAY 09 : ANGGRUK – WAMENA (B,L,D)
Have breakfast in Anggruk while waiting for the chartered plane back to Wamena. The plane usually arrives in the morning to avoid the strong wind which blows strongly from other valley on the other side of Elit mountain. Arrive at Wamena, transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 10 : WAMENA – JAYAPURA (B,L,D)
After breakfast at hotel, get flight back to Jayapura. Arrive at Jayapura, short transfer to hotel, then sightseeing tour to visit some interesting places in Jayapura such as: hilltop to view whole lake, boat trip on Sentani lae, souvenirs shops. Afternoon back to hotel.
DAY 11: JAYAPURA – DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast, depart to Jayapura Airport for your flight to next destination.
